The configuration is split into two files.
| File | Loaded by | Sent to players |
|---|---|---|
shared/config.lua | Shared scripts | Yes |
shared/sv_config.lua | Server scripts | No |
Keep secret values and server validation tuning in sv_config.lua.
Restart the resource after each configuration change.
Shared configuration
shared/config.lua contains settings clients need.
| Setting | Purpose |

Config.FishingRod | Defines rod labels, access, and durability |
Config.Baits / Config.Materials | Defines items and shop display data |
Config.Catch | Controls the post-catch panel |
Config.Anims | Controls cast and idle animations |
Config.Start and Config.Catch stay shared. The server validates them against client positions.

Config.Images | Sets the item image path |
Config.Menu | Sets menu labels and payment account |

Catch panel
Config.Catch controls what happens after a successful catch.
- Set
enabledtofalsefor direct inventory delivery. - Set
releaseExpfor release rewards. - Set
autoClosein milliseconds. Use0to disable it. - Set
inputtokeys,cursor, orboth.
Use FiveM control IDs for keys.keep.control and keys.release.control.
Progression and tasks
EXP rewards are keyed by fish rarity. Level requirements use total EXP.
Every task has a stable id. Changing it resets task progress for all players.
Supported task types are catch_any, catch, sell_any, sell, and rod_level.
Minigame tuning
The global configuration controls gravity, hook force, fish movement, and starting progress.
Each rod tier controls wait time, catch bar size, difficulty, tension, duration, and sale multiplier.
The server generates parameters for every cast. Client-side edits have no effect.
Experience defaults
The default level curve has ten levels and ends at 4,000 total EXP.
Catch rewards use rarity keys: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary.
Rod breakage can grant consolation EXP through rodBroken.
Protected settings
Keep Steam API keys, admin groups, ranking rewards, and minigame tuning server-side.
Moving these settings to shared scripts exposes them to every player.
Useful defaults
The catch panel auto-keeps a fish after 12 seconds by default.
Set autoClose to 0 to require a player action.
Use input mode keys, cursor, or both for the catch panel.
Version checks
Config.VersionCheck.Enabled controls release-update warnings in the server console.
Disable it only when your server cannot access version-check endpoints.
